Well, that was interesting. I started out with a blog entry to post either to this site or the other one and it kept getting longer and longer. It had gotten to be 3 pages long and I figured that was way too long to put on a blog. So, instead, I used it for a new page at Talking to Spirit. It’s been a long time since I created a from scratch, brand new page there and I feel really good about. The theme was what to do when crappy stuff starts happening in your life. How you really do have control over it and what to do to get some answers. So, if you are in any way interested you can visit my new Help Yourself page.
Otherwise, how’s life treating me? Well, I’m gradually making my way through the Ballykissangel series. I’m ready for season 6, the last year they taped the show. There are only 2 dvds in that season with 2 shows a piece on them. What an absolutely terrific show. Over the years I’d see a show here or there on the PBS stations, but I’d never watched the entire thing. We belong to Netflix and I found out I could watch the first two seasons from my computer, in the on-demand mode. The other seasons I’m renting from NetFlix. For $9 a month we get an unlimited number of dvd’s that we can have providing we only get one at a time. When you’re done you put it into their red mailer and pop it into a mailbox. The turn around time is usually a couple of days. The nearest Netflix facility is in San Jose, not that very far away from us.
Anyway, if you’re interested, “Ballykissangel” is a television show that takes place in Ireland in the village of Ballykissangel. It’s about a group of folks in the village and begins with their new priest arriving in town. There’s the lady who runs the pub and all the folks who drink there. There is love, there is conflict, these are just really interesting stories. I’m looking forward to watching the end of the show.

Early Morning
As many times I sit here to write that one last article for my newsletter and have trouble every time doing it I begin to wonder why this is happening. The space to fill is small. If the word count goes to 200 words that is sometimes quite a lot. It doesn’t even have to be that much. So, why do I have trouble filling it?
This newsletter that I write once a month is filled with short pieces about being psychic. I began this newsletter back when I’d first started blogging. The newsletter was my attempt for fresher information, for a more personal and immediate connection with the people who visited the Talking to Spirit website. What that one blog evolved into though was six blogs. I try to keep them up-to-date, though there are some that are added to more frequently than others.
What is happening is the same energy going into writing my newsletter is going into the blogs. And, this morning I sit here to take a stab at answering the question of: maybe it is time to stop.
Right away I get big no’s from inside. These aren’t from Spirit. It’s from that little voice inside that says I’m a quitter. Also, nothing irritates me more than to visit somebody’s website and see a project they have let languish. I always wonder if the person has fallen ill that they have not done something, anything to update their site.
So, aside from the fact that nobody seems to visit those past newsletter issues very much I’m thinking that somehow I could devise a little mouse over or something to indicate an abbreviated table of contents for the newsletters. That might be the sugar on my cornflakes to keep me going a little longer.
And, I think I need another project. I’ll have to think about that one. Somebody in spirit just touched their nose. Sort of like Santa Claus does before he rises up the chimney. That’s always been their signal to me that maybe I’m onto something.
And, the other thing that I might do is write something for that tiny little space that stays the same with each newsletter. Sort of an introduction to what I do. You know, that feels good. Then, I’d just be writing my three 350 to 400 word articles and be done with it. Damn, that feels like the right decision.
My name is Pauline or as I am known on the Internet Lady Skye Fyre. I am what is called a channel. I communicate with Folks in Spirit; dead guys. I’ve been doing this since February, 1993. I can’t say that I’ve made much money doing it. I have a job I go to everyday as a secretary to do that. What I do here with my newsletters, with my website, book and with my blogs is to teach people who are interested how to feel more at ease with their own psychic natures. When a person is opening to Spirit, as I refer to it, they are walking into unknown territory. And, many times what is unknown can also be frightening. So, I try to calm them down explaining that being psychic isn’t strange or scary but can be an entirely natural part of life.
Also, a very important part of what I feel my job is, is to help ease the hearts of people who are grieving the loss of their loved ones whether they be people or animals. I am constantly hammering away at the notion that anybody can talk to their loved ones who have passed on and most important of all is that those loved ones always hear what you have to say whether you can hear them or not. There is never any wasted effort in these endeavors.
So, that’s who I am and that’s why I write. Blessings to you.

Don't Cook Tonight
One of the things I need to work on is how to turn a crappy day into a good one. Today at work it seemed that every time I turned around I needed to deal with some sort of humongeous crisis. And, there were lots of small ones too that made their way to my door today.
When I came home tonight I couldn't settle down. I kept opening the door to the refrigerator, like things inside would be different the next time I opened the door and somehow, magically dinner would be there.
We ordered out. Had a lovely Chinese dinner from our local restaurant around the corner from where we live. DeeDude went over to pick it up 15 minutes after I ordered. There's enough for at least another 2 dinners. So, maybe that would be a nice solution to what to do when you've had a crappy day at work. Don't cook.

Learning
I’m a real slow learner. I mean slow. It must have taken me 5 years to teach myself how to crochet out of books. I’d snarl up a bunch of yarn, get frustrated with it, tear it all up and put it away for a year. Then, when I felt the urge to crochet again, I’d haul it all out, try to make sense out of the directions and do the same thing over again. It took me years to learn. I still don’t hold the yarn the way other people do. But, it works. I’m real good on scarves, but ask me to shape something or to do a doily and I really need to concentrate. I can do it, but, like I said, I’m not real good at it.
It took me a long time to learn how to channel. I used the book I recommend for anybody who asks me how to learn to channel and that is, “Opening to Channel” by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer, but I wasn’t all that good with it. I tried, but I remember so many of the exercises I did just fell flat. Nothing happened like it was suggested it was going to happen. Consequently, I sort of assumed I was, once again, being a really lousy student.
Now, I realize that I wasn’t all that bad. There are just a lot of stages involved, more than I realized. Maybe I didn’t read the entire book, and maybe they didn’t talk about them.
It’s not the Texas Two Step. It’s not a connect the dots sort of thing. You don’t learn one stitch and then another stitch and with a third one at your command you can make a scarf with a lacy pattern. And yet, it sometimes felt when I was teaching people how to channel that all I had to do was wave a magic wand and they were channeling. Actually, they were already channeling, they just didn’t know it. Most people are like that. I guess they needed me to believe in them. Maybe. It would have saved a lot of time if I’d had somebody in my life do that for me. But, then, it all happened the way it was supposed to happen. I had to do a lot of inner work. Maybe that healing needed to get done first. I’m getting a head nodding up and down in agreement on that one from one of the guides.
I’m still not sure what it is that I’m “supposed” to be doing with all of this. I do have the feeling that there are several parts to it. I think I’m supposed to be taking some of the uncertainty and fear out of what happens to people after they die. I think more than that I’m supposed to be helping people through their grieving process when they lose people dear to them; that they can still stay in touch without the need of psychics to do it for them. I think I’m supposed to help folks learn how to channel, or at least to come close. And, I guess most of all is to give folks the idea that they can have a real close and personal relationship with Spirit.

I'm Beat
Did you ever have one of those days where, when you got home from work you could only just sit there? Not do anything else? Just absolutely numb? That was me tonight.
I'm thinking this is one of those evenings where, to preserve my sanity, I'm going to have to do something. Some sort of revitalizing meditation. Something to make up for the horrible day at work. The only redeeming thing is that it is Tuesday and there are only 3 days left in the week. Think they'll go fast enough?
It's on nights like this I wish I smoked and I wish I still drank, because I'd have been smoking up a storm and drinking like a fish.

Ahhhhh...a Nap
Here’s me reading blogs on Blog Explosion just now. The post was talking about uber-cool people. I asked of Spirit, “Do you figure I’ll ever be uber-psychic?” They said, “Why don’t you go take a nap. You’ve done enough.” Ha….I’ve been buzzing around all day doing things, being industrious. Here’s what I’ve done so far on my day off from work:
I’ve posted entries to 3 blogs.
With input from Spirit I created a batch of muffins based upon a little and very old can of coconut milk in my cupboard and updated my Spirited Recipes at Talking to Spirit.
I did 3 loads of laundry to include the sheets and bedding.
I swept the patio and watered the plants.
I went shopping and got DeeDude’s special request of hamburgers and French fries for his last day of work dinner.
I bought a fly gizmo trap for the patio.
I created, bought and sent a present to a friend via CafePress.
I’ve made great inroads into the current book I’m reading, “The Widow's Tale
” by Margaret Frazer.
When I am at work about this time in the afternoon I always want to take a nap. So, since I am at home today and have already done a boatload of things I am going to go take a nap. That should pretty much make my day.

The Check is in the Mail
Here’s a funny one. The other day I called a company up asking where our money was. They hadn’t paid for 3 invoices and, though we don’t do a huge amount of business with them they have been our customers for many years. So, I didn’t want to have “that tone” with them. It was just a friendly call to see if maybe somebody had been sick or the statement had gotten misplaced somewhere along the line and could I fax or send them another one. That’s all. The lady tells me, “The checks were written just yesterday.” I said to her, “If I’d drawn upon my awesome psychic abilities I would not have called you.” She laughed and I laughed. Right. So, why did I call her if the check had really just been written?
If I take everything for truth and she wasn’t just saying the check had been written maybe calling her prevented that check from sitting on somebody’s desk for 2 weeks before it got mailed out. If I figure that everything we do has purpose maybe that was the purpose of the call. Or, maybe it was just that if they heard a friendly voice from our company that they might think twice about calling up the competition to do the job next time and call us instead?
I don’t know why. But, somehow the whole thing didn’t feel like one of those random things that happen. It felt to me that the interaction I had held some sort of purpose.

What Would You Do?
I don’t address current issues, so it’s not news, is it? If that is true, then what I do here isn’t even Non-News. What is it I do in this blog?
It’s more along the lines of a journal, I suppose. Nothing wrong with journals, but you’re supposed to talk about really private stuff in journals. And, I don’t here. Okay, I do get close to the mark with occasional reports of hemorrhoids and things like that. But, there are things I don’t talk about, much anyway. Like where I work. I don’t talk about the folks I work with. Not that they aren’t an interesting bunch of people. They’re actually a hoot. But, I wouldn’t want to embarrass them if one of them happened to see themselves in print. So, work-place things are not discussed here. With the exception of every once in awhile when I’m acting like a bear or Spirit intervenes to save my butt from a fiery work mistake.
Now, I will relate work related dreams occasionally. Like this morning’s dream on how I hung up on a customer who was there to complain and I couldn’t understand him. He had some sort of speech impediment and was also trying to carry on a conversation with people while he was on the phone with me. I hung up on him figuring that he’d call back when he was less distracted. But, I was also hot. I suppose the goal would be to not get hot. I really was hot…physically hot. I’d gone back to bed a couple of hours earlier to catch a lovely Saturday morning go back to bed because I don’t have to go to work snooze. Also, my feet were freezing so I turned the heating pad on high and put it down at the bottom of the bed for my frozen tootsies. Voila. I got hot in a dream. And, not a sexy hot either. Mad hot.
Okay, so how to smooth through life, enjoying yourself and not allowing events and people to get you hot? The answer was in the dream. Hang up on the guy and he’ll call back later. Maybe. The other solution was to stay on the line waiting for him to clarify his position and make his complaint. Meanwhile I have to suffer through his shit. I suppose another option would be to stay on the line and not suffer through his shit but to do a crossword puzzle or something to keep myself amused. Or, just fire up the computer and do some surfing. So, there are 3 different possible solutions to an angry customer. Actually, there is a fourth solution. Stay on the line with the guy, have an incredible amount of patience, figure out what his beef is and try to solve it.
What would you do?

Red
I would really like to have something interesting to tell you about. I’d like to be witty. I’d like to be interesting. I’d like to be mysterious. I’d like to be intriguing. I’d like to be sexier than hell. I’d like to be so funny you’d wet your pants at the stuff I said. However, I’m not. I am, instead, red.
It happened at work. We were stuck away in a small office counting and the heat was turned on pretty good. It’s one of those places where the controls are somewhere else and with what we were doing it wasn’t worth our while to go find and fiddle with them. Just get the job done and get out of there so we can go back to our regular place to work.
I found out I was red when I went to the restroom and looked in the mirror. Holy Smokes! It was like I’d been out in the sun for 10 hours my face was that red. Not splotchy at all, just totally beet red.
Either it was the heat or my blood pressure was up. Maybe it was my first honest to Pete hot flash? I’m 51. I’m supposed to be having something like that going on aren’t I?
Anyway, it’s okay now.
