An Ordinary Psychic
I used to talk to myself. When I started channeling I stopped doing that because I was embarrassed. I wouldn't have wanted any live person to overhear me talking to myself; why would I want one in Spirit to overhear me too? As the years went by I moved back to where I would talk to myself every once in awhile. It actually helps me to prepare for things. Sort of like learning your Spanish dialogue for next day's Spanish class. But, even now I'll find that I've lapsed into talking to myself without even realizing what I'd done. I sort of snap out of it and with a sidelong look to Spirit that asks for forgiveness....Ha. Channeling Funny. One of our friendly folk in Spirit just said, "I wish she'd ask for forgiveness when she has gas." Oh, that's hilarious. Well, yeah. There's that too.
Anyway, I just wanted to say how it's all the same and how it's wildly different too. I need to go get ready for work...breakfast, all my vitamins and medications and build a lunch. Speaking of building things. I saw a Levis commercial on television yesterday. They were talking about building pants for men. I thought it was hilarioius. What man would want to wear pants that had been made or sewn? No, build 'em and build 'em tough. Ha.

The Guides and Me about Readings
But, we're getting maybe 100 hits a day. I would like to see that number double. I noticed that the second most popular page was the Channeled Readings page. I only put a few of the readings I ever did for folks there. I might dig up another couple of them that have info in them that might be considered valuable for folks other than the intended readee. Is that a word? Are you asking us? No, actually, I was being bloggie. I really don't think that is a word. What are you trying to say? Well, I wanted to say if the reading wasn't too personal other folks might get some benefit from it. Our feeling is no matter how personal a reading is others would certainly be interested in reading it. You, however, might think of professional consideration of your clients, whether they paid for the reading or not, in seeking to publish them. Well, I was. I only ever think of looking at the really old readings. Also, I saw that spreadsheet yesterday where I had been keeping track of them; who I did them for and what their email addresses were and the basic jest of the reading. Also, how long it was. Why is that? Well, I saw I'd stopped keeping track in 2002 and there are 3 years of readings not recorded there. Why? I don't know. Why, why? Why did you stop recording them? I suppose I forgot. Not easy to forget something like that, Dear. Well, I suppose I must have gotten busy with something. Maybe the hgh stuff. Yes, perhaps your other job took more of your time. Now would be a good time to see just how many readings you have done. I suppose. You don't sound very enthusiastic about it. No. Who is this, anyway? Seth. Oh. Yes, hello to you too, Dear. God. No, Seth. Oh, shit. Dear, you can strike that. No, I won't. Well, so be it. And, everyone will read of your foul mouth. Alright. What are you getting at? You know very well what I am getting at. Not only is this a blog, it's my own personal battleground. Well, I wouldn't say it was bloody. No.
Okay, what Seth is needling me about here has to do with something I read in, "Zen in the Art of Writing" by Ray Bradbury years and years ago. He'd been talking about how when he had written a million words he'd consider himself to be a writer. When I read that it really struck a chord with me and I determined that I'd do that too. So, over a period of a year I wrote a million and a half words in a journal. Nothing that might be considered to be publishable. More like blog stuff. It was me on my soapbox. It was me pissing and moaning. It was me wondering about stuff. It was my journal. I'd begun in the beginning to do word counts for each day's journaling. Then, when that got to be seemingly obsessive I did averages. Turns out, in the program I was using in those days that a page had about 600 words on it. So, I counted pages instead and multiplied. In the end it was about a million and a half. And, I could write. Maybe not well. But, it flowed. I actually needed it for the channeling, as it turned out. The guides needed somebody with diarrhea of the fingers...or of the mouth..ha. LOL, Dear. LOL. hmmpph.
Anyway, I took the same idea and applied it to me as a psychic. I figured after I'd done 100 readings for folks, whether they were paid readings or not, I might consider myself to be a psychic reader. Except, I still have issues with the readings. It's not my most fun thing in the world to do. I still have problems with how people will accept them. I don't have any problems with what the guides have to say, but I do have issues with how good a channel I am with their information. And, the biggest problem I have is with people wanting answers to questions without plunking down the geld first. I can't blame them for not wanting to spend money on something without knowing what they're getting, but that was what the reading page was supposed to solve. Maybe I need to put some links of the purchase page back to the reading page so they can see what some of the readings are like. That might be interesting.
I talked to Dallas about it and she said she gives one free reading a month. If folks want to stand in line, that's fine with her and if they don't want to stand in line they can purchase a reading. I've been giving free readings to folks who are grieving and who say they flat out don't have any money. I still would want to continue with that, but I might ask that they queue up in the line. Not like I've had a gazillion folks waiting in line wanting readings these days. But, being as how I worry a lot, I don't see why I can't worry about this issue. Side note: I just saw a guide in my peripheral mind's eye scrubbing his face with his hands. I'm probably dancing around the whole point here. Usually, when I see them doing that, that's what I'm doing. No, now one of them is holding his nose.
You, know, once upon a time Seth and the others suggested I do some sample readings, not based on questions folks had actually submitted to us, but just with questions we came up with ourselves and then the guides answered as if they were honest to goodness readings. That way I wouldn't be violating any sort of professional standard or confidentiality. Yeah, I had forgotten about that.

Mom
Mom? Yes. I love you. Yes, I love you too. Anybody reading this and knowing anything about me knows that you died years ago. How many? Lots. Are you going to look? Yes. 9/14/04 Nine years ago. More than that, Dear. Oh, right. Eleven years. I should change this? No, Dear, this is your back story. Or, at least, this is you talking to your mother. We might have called each other on the telephone today to yak. Remember how we laughed? Yes. Now, you're crying. It was such a nice Saturday and now you're sad. Well, I still miss you. Yes, and I see you still talking to me. Your sister can't do that. I know. I shouldn't be sad. No, I know how you feel though. You feel that even as good a channel that you are you can twist what I want to say to suit yourself. And, in a way you can. But, I wouldn't worry about it so much if I were you. There's actually not much that you can do about it. Just maintain the contact. You know what it feels like to do this. It's easy for you now. Just maintain the connection. Thanks, Mom. You're welcome. I love you. I love you too. Bye. Yes, Dear.
Anyway, the link to the site I was talking about is Summer in Uganda I read most of an entry she'd made the other day. I don't suppose this is for more than her family and friends. It's the summer she's spending in Uganda, but I was really drawn to her story as I read it. I saw a fellow writer and it was a delight to see somebody who can craft words and loves them and just plain old has diarrhea of the mouth like I do. As I read what she'd written I was hooked and, yet, on the other hand I was thinking who would read this? Who would spend the time to read all of this? Then, I read the comment her mother had made and I thought how lucky she was to still have her mother. And, one thing led to another and my own showed up. Damn, I wish I still drank. I'd go make me a rum and coke right now. Anyway, I can't do this anymore right now. But, being as how this is the back story of a psychic, I will leave the conversation I had with Mom in.

Blogging Around
This particular blog, my first and only, is different than the website because I pick topics there to talk about and here I just barf on the page. Excuse me, that just wasn't polite. But, it's what I do as a journaling writer. I barf words. Not that what ends up on the page is going to be vomit. At least, I hope it won't be. But, in a sense, there's more freedom for me here than there is on the webpage. Also, folks are visiting Talking To Spirit. Nobody visits here. At least, not now. So, I don't feel so self conscious.
Now, I'm looking at other people's blogs and I see some really, very nice ones. I mean these are primo professionally done blogs. At least, I think so. Like mine? No. One thing I notice is I like the white page best. Do you see me with a white page? No, but I'm still fiddling with this. Once upon a time it was all green.
Anyway, enough barfing. Climb onto a soap box. What exactly does this blog do for me? Well, it's a place where I can just write. I haven't done that lately anywhere else. And, I'm sorry to say I really haven't done much in the line of adding new content to my website.
The plans there involve optimizing. Looking at the titles of each page and writing a distinct and different description for each page. Yikes. I've got over 400 pages. This is going to take awhile. With that project goes using the Overture keyword selection tool, deciding on keywords to concentrate on and work with them.
Also, I have ideas to double the number of link/resource pages I've got up. After they are built and have a few links on them to begin the process of going after reciprocal links. What does any of this have to do with being a channel? Nothing. It has to do with making this channeling website financially viable. Because right now it makes $100 every 4 months. Who can pay the rent with that? I have to admit I haven't done many readings lately, but the last two readings I did I think may have resulted in a couple of friendships or, at least, in me getting some channeling students for awhile.
I don't charge to teach people to channel. They all go at their own pace and check in when they feel the need. In that sense maybe I'm sort of shamanic which appeals to me.
Renee Lopez sent me a CD with her singing all her own songs. What a tremendous voice she has. Turns out we are both Virgos.
Anyway, I don't want to say too much here that's going to violate anybody's privacy and yet, I wonder just how private these blogs can be. It's going to take some more investigating. I did notice, though, in looking at my statcounter info the other day somebody had taken the pdf file I'd made with the Spirit Board and put it on their blog. They were poking fun at it. Well, when I made it I was sort of laughing tongue in cheek anyway at it all. It's not serious and yet it works. And, if you wanted to talk to Elvis you could. I guess that's what people don't feel is so spiritually enlightened. Well, if they want to be serious they can be. I can't. I'm just mean most of the time these days. Because I am in pain all the time...but, that's another story and not one I care to go into now...my back hurts and so does my neck.

Seth Talks to Me
Supposedly, I'm a psychic. I definitely am a channel. But, personally, I don't think I'm that great a psychic. Sometimes I get flashes. Sometimes I can say truthfully that I am psychic. But, then again, so is everybody else. I'm not so special in that department. Where I am different is that I'm a channel. The quandary I find myself in is that people tend to lump everybody with psychic abilities together and expect that they can all tell the future, etc. Even if I could tell the future (and, sometimes I do get glimpses), I wouldn't want to. But, moving with the idea that what the people think is what I'll cram myself into...it just doesn't sit well with me. Could be why I don't get requests for readings anymore.
My site, I think, is better geared toward helping other people to channel. And, to help those people who are having immediate questions about grief. But, am I still a psychic? I guess so.
Perhaps we might help? Yes, thanks. You'll need to go back later on and give us all different colors so you might keep us all apart. Okay, I'll do that. Anyway, what do you think? What we think, Dear, is not what is important right now. It is what you think. It would appear that you are a reluctant psychic. Yes. I compare myself to other psychics and find myself wanting. Dear, hasn't that always been the case with you with other matters? I guess so. Give us a new paragraph and we might speak for a moment.
First of all, this blog as you refer to it is indeed the back story of a psychic. As you state you might not be the best in the bunch, but you are a good channel. And, you know how to maintain a high quality of channeling in that you might continue to do your own psychological work. Something you have bee neglecting for awhile, but that is just a hint. In any case, if you were to pay attention to your own needs your life overall would improve and this would also include your ability to perceive what might be termed as wishful channeling.
What you have before you with Talking To Spirit is a website that is in constant motion. It has enough information continued in it even now, that you might publish a book. But, to have it available for anyone to come, anywhere with no charge was your desire. That has been fulfilled. It is also more dynamic than a book in that you are constantly adding to it.
We would suggest that you might continue with your own efforts in regard to moving psychically and also spiritually.
Yeah, that's something that's been bothering me too. What's that? The moving spiritually part. Like Thayer said about meditating just for meditating's sake and not for growing spiritually. Well, then, you can take what he said under advisement, then, can't you? Yes. I guess I have. Yes.
Seth, why does it have to be so hard, though? I mean, why is there all this anguish in my heart when all I want to do is help people? Dear, if you would consider your own position does not come from the top of the barrel, as it were, but from the bottom. You don't have a whole lot of self confidence and it seems perfectly natural for you to have all this anguish. You're just operating from a really intense position and take nothing for granted. You've got to question everything. You've got to know the nuts and bolts. You've got to split hairs. That's what the driving force of your nature takes you. It doesn't just like to skim over the surface of things. It really wants to know. Couple that with low self esteem and you've got anguish.
On the other hand, those things that are beautiful and that are poignant are so much more so for you than for other people. Can you remember what it was like to learn how to swim? Yes. Remember how frightened you were? How you hugged to the side of the pool not wanting to go into the water? How even your toes curled about the edge of the pool you were holding on so tight? Yes. Do you remember how you were taught? The first dead man's float? How relaxing it was? And, it was then that you knew for a certainty that you would not sink, you would not get water in your nose, you would not choke, you would not die and you were safe. From the simple floating. The learning how to swim came later. But, it was the floating that first allowed you to feel safe.
Being safe is the key for you. Revisit being safe and translate that feeling into how you can feel with being safely psychic. Where you are halting is the meandering and idle vision seeking. That's where you can use a little nudge. OBE's in your head. What would it be like to have a sudden psychic vision? You've had them before. They are odd. They are sudden. They can be startling. But, this is the same thing that happened to you as you learned how to meditate. Remember? Yes. There was a period of time when you saw faces. Faces contorted in horror and fear and who knew what else. Tortured faces. And, you were seeing them. And, they frightened you. But, we told you to continue with meditating practice. And, finally, when you were meditating you no longer saw those faces.
Use the same technique, now, with being psychic. It will come to you.
Thanks - I suppose, this would be the better backstory of a psychic than me pissing and moaning about every little thing. Dear, it is your story. Don't worry about it. Thanks.
Farts
A phenomenon of getting older or, perhaps, of getting fatter is that I seem to fart a lot. Not that you’d notice it during the day. I’m the perfect model of proper behavior at work. But, I’ve noticed in recent years that as I awaken, as I stretch and slowly come awake, I also move a lot of air. So, here I am lying in bed. Can’t sleep, wishing the kids would go home and I farted. I mentioned to Seth that it seemed like my blood pressure had even gone down as I farted; it was that powerful. He said, “And, we can assure you there was a corresponding rise of blood pressures in the immediate vicinity.” Maybe you had to be there, but I thought it was funny.

Mama Cat
The past week has been pretty grim. Mama Cat is dead. She was killed by a pitbull. It was on Monday, June 27th, just after 6pm. I was in the house. I hadn't gone to work that day and hadn't even bothered to get dressed. I heard Tina outside screaming Mama Cat's name and then alternately, my name. I rushed to the door and as I stood on the steps I saw a kid bicycling off with a tan pitbull on a leash. He made eye contact with me and his eyes slid away and he continued to slowly bicycle on down the street. I rushed downstairs and saw a group of people, the neighborhood kids and Tina and Phil all looking at Mama Cat. She lay on the ground. Her eyes were open. I leaned over to touch her and realized she was gone. But, the realization wasn't enough. I leaned back and put my hands over my face and prayed, help her. Help me. Please take care of her. I picked her up, cradling her, holding her, hugging her. She was gone. I took her upstairs and laid her on the soft blue blanket on our bed and cried over her.Phil called the police. They came to talk to us. There was nothing they could do. Evidently, a cat, unless it is a show cat, no matter how domesticated it is, is still considered feral. As such nobody gets too excited about it when they are killed. I couldn't believe I was hearing this. I lost interest in talking to the police officer when he said those things. Only in Oakland. He did say he would investigate. The neighborhood children had followed the guy as he wheeled off onto MacArthur Blvd and on down until they stopped at High Street. He continued on and they were able to determine that he veered off toward Mills College. The police officer said in the past 3 days they'd had reports of people releasing pit bulls from their cars to attack cats. The kids said he deliberately released his dog and sicced him on Mama Cat.
This is such violence that I am still shuddering from it. I told some people at work about it. But, I haven't told anybody I channel for. I've just been grieving for my cat.
I can channel her too. It's not like I have lost contact with her. She said she woke up in my mother's arms. She said there are pitbulls in heaven, but nobody minds because everybody gets along. She said she loved me. Today she told me that she had been protecting us all and had stayed in danger. The dog could have gotten Samantha, her daughter, or Fluffy Drawers who were both downstairs. The dog could have gone up the stairs to get Mitzie who is 18 years old and doesn't move fast at all anymore. Mama Cat said she was just doing her job which was to watch out for us. She said it's much nicer there anyway, so she's glad to have lived with us, but she doesn't mind where she is right now.
Every once inawhile it hits me. And, I cry for her. I cry for the times she would always stop by as I was making my lunch and wanted a piece of ham. I cry for the times when she would race up the steps ahead of us when we got home from work. I cry for the times she would always come to greet us when we'd get out of the car. I cry for the times she'd follow me to the store and sit on the corner or in the Budhist temple yard waiting until I was done and walking home. She'd race on ahead and pause to scratch a little bit on the telephone pole before we'd cross the street together. I remember how she was always interested in her breakfast. I remember how she'd spend most nights in the good weather over on Phil's porch sleeping under his grill. We've had so many cats recently who've passed on. Molly and Millie and Gertie it seems not so long ago. Now, Mama Cat. It breaks my heart. But, I think too of how lucky we've been we had these animals with us for so many years. They all were rescued. Each one of them has a place in my heart that will always be there. It's been a long week.

A word from Elvis and Other Stuff
Mandy, my boss' dog passed away this last week. She'd been a favorite in the company and everybody misses her.
Our second newsletter is due to come out on June 1st. The first one wasn't all that bad, if I do say so myself. The Google ads didn't show up, but I guess that's okay. I would have liked to have seen them there, but I probably didn't do something right. Technically, I was able to pull the whole thing together over a weekend...from conception through gathering names of folks to send it to and finally emailing it off. I used Bravenet who has some pretty neat webmaster tools available for folks to use. And, best of all, it was free.
Anyway, I worked on the 2nd one a lot last weekend. I have to say I had one of those really, really good feelings about a particular regular section I'd decided to include with each newsletter. It was to have (notice past tense) been a visit from a personality who had passed on. I mean why be a medium if you aren't going to take advantage of the condition and just talk to famous people? I don't understand why more mediums don't do it. Unless I'm unusual in that regard and I sort of think I'm not. The connection is a telephone line. You can talk to anybody. In any case, I actually had the idea to do it and our first guest was Elvis. I'm not kidding. It was a wonderful little bit he said. I just loved it. It felt wonderful to include it. I'm not, though. I saved it...though they? he? is urging me to include it here. It might not ever see the light of day otherwise. Okay...I'm game.
A Visit from – Elvis
I want to say that I’m honored to be here this afternoon. Folks just expect me to be like I was when I was Elvis the Pelvis Presley. That was then. This is now. But, to establish credibility I suppose I could do a bit of a bump and grind for you. There. Did you see that? Right. No, you didn’t. Part of channeling and talking to the Folk in Spirit who you actually knew or knew of once upon a time also means that you accept the idea that there’s life after death. Why else would I be talking to you? I’m not a ghost. I’ve gone to my heavenly reward and I don’t have any complaints. I had a good life even up until the end and I’m not sorry for a bit of it. Could I have done things differently? Sure. But, so could anybody else. No regrets. That ought to be on a banner over the Pearly Gates for folks as they enter Heaven. No Regrets.
Do I still like to sing? You bet. I’m not a singing sensation like I was then, but I still enjoy singing. So do a lot of folks who’ve passed on. We get together and sing. Mostly church music. There’s just something about a hymn.
Well, that's that. I have yet to make this blog available at the website. I just finished being at Stella Cameron's section of Writer's Space and saw she had a blog. I enjoyed hearing her talk about stuff. The backstory. The stuff you just never hear about. The real person behind the published work. Some of that comes out in what I do at Talking To Spirit, but not all of it. Nor should it being as how I get in pissy moods a lot. Not as much as I used to, but a lot. But, what does not come through, or at least, I haven't noticed it, is the caring that comes from the guides.
Like I was sitting there thinking about the work I wanted to do this weekend. And, how daunting it sometimes feels to be and I was just in the mood for a hug, I suppose. Verging on a pity me sort of a place when I caught a visual of one of the guides just holding me and cradling my head against his chest. I don't know who it was. I really don't even know if it was a he. But, it was the caring and I flat out really needed a hug right then. Now, does that happen to regular people? No. At least it didn't used to happen to me before I started channeling. Could it? Sure. Need to use your imagination...a sheesh...I think the guides are getting ribald now...but, it was a comfort to me. And, that's the kind of stuff I have never put in the website.
Okay, well, let's go. I've, once again, decided to share this blog with others. Also, for the first time I said comments were okay. Some day, I'll decide to put it on Talking To Spirit.
Okay...woof, woof and Elvis has left the building.

Over the Weekend
But, Sunday morning as I lay in bed snoozing with my bad back I had a dream. It was a usual sort of confusing dream. Normal in the sense that I typically don't have much to say about what is going on...I'm a leaf drifting on the surface of the water sort of thing. Anyway, the dream was carrying me away. Something about a big university building and trying to get out and away. But, it got even more odd as I found myself getting into a red bug sort of car. Dad was comatose in the back seat. Like he was almost dead. Betsy was noncommunicative in the front seat, in the driver's seat. I couldn't rouse her. I didn't want to have anything to do with them and, though the car was still moving (how Betsy could be driving is beyond me...hey, it's one of my crazy dreams) I began to get out of this moving car. The car slowed down enough that I could get out and then the stupid hatch popped open. I slapped it shut once, twice, three times. Finally, it stayed shut and Betsy and Dad left. I turned around and the usual cast of hundreds were there with me. Guides and Folks in Spirit. Which is not at all unusual in my dreams either since I began channeling so many years ago. Anyway, they're all milling about dressed in theatrical costumes. I remember seeing somebody dressed with white tulle netting all fluffy around her, either a ballerina or a bride off in the distance. Cowboys and Indians. It was a regular sort of calvary charge. Shooting guns, racket, charging about down these hills around us. I yelled, "Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" and I was lucid. Just like that. I turned to the nearest guy. He had a gun in his hand and a grey mustache. I said, "I'm lucid". He didn't seem to hear me. I grabbed his hand and I said, "I'm lucid. I'm lucid" He looked a little confused, like he wasn't totally with the program, but then he turned to the rest of the characters who were still charging and motioned them to stop. They all stopped what they were doing and began to mill about in a confused, but slower manner. I thought to myself, "Well, now that I'm lucid what can I do?" and, the dream picked up steam, I was no longer lucid and it went back to being a regular old dream. I found the entire thing totally amazing. The fact that things that I said happened in three's was interesting. I'll have to think of other things I can do once I'm lucid in dreams. Like do some exercising or something like that. Might as well be something useful. And, maybe I can make a lucid dream tutorial page or something. Anyway, it was thrilling and it's been a good many years since I've had a lucid dream.
I got a request for a paid reading yesterday and worked on it a little bit. Will work some more tonight. I got an unpaid request for some help finding something. That seems to be a popular request. Maybe I should work on that some more...psychic locating of things. I got 3 requests for link exchanges; two I did. The third is for HGH and I don't want there to be any competition for Thayer's stuff, so I won't do anything with that one. Lots of orders for HGH and I need to print out a list for Dennis.
Anyway, an eventful weekend. JZ is off today, so I'll be alone at work. I'll just have to move slowly. Maybe I'll take some ibuprophen with me. Doctor's appointment on Wednesday for the diabetes. Numbers haven't been all that good lately. At least, in my opinion.

Learning to Crochet
My desk is a mess. I mean it is a mess. There was just enough room at the edge to put my coffee cup. How in the world do I get any work done around here? Well, lets see....I could put away those 2 dvd's. I'm done with them. I could look at what's inside those baskets that won't find under the shelf anymore and take something out. Then, the stapler will fit. I could find another tp roll to cover with colored paper to have my scissors sit it taped to the side of the monitor because having the scissors in with the pens and pencils makes the whole thing top heavy. And, just how long would it take to do all that? About the time it took to write about it. And, why can't I do things like that? It's Saturday. If I get this place cleaned up a little bit, just a little bit more organized I know I'll feel better.
Anyway, maybe I'll make a list and have this stuff be at the top. Oh, I'd better because I've also got the checkbook to reconcile. Ugh.
Trying, not too hard, but thinking about finding a couple of places to link Talking To Spirit to. You know, Thayer was talking about making text links awhile ago. I wonder if those same links can be made during the course of my ramblings here? Presumably the spiders that walk the web also visit obscure places like my own....hmmm. Anyway, my resources page at Talking To Spirit has grown somewhat. And, continues to grow. Not burgeone...just grow. It's not exactly outgrown its present digs, but it's sort of cramped. What I was thinking about doing is to place 2 or more categories on each page. And, then you'd use those name tags to take the person down further on the page to where the particular category is that they're looking for. The reasoning for this is that I've seen links pages that do just that. Some of them have really healthy pagerank with google and lots of links. Easy peasy to add new links. What I've got are 15 or so link pages with a google page rank of 2. That's sort of a measly page rank. However, my resource main page has a 3. Maybe the farther away from your main page you get the less likely high page rank occurs?
The guides had a suggestion...being as how this is my backstory I might mention them in here every once in a while...but, as I was laying in bed this morning thinking about the coming weekend they said that I should begin the process of cleaning up the desk at one edge or another and that way I'll be able to see clean desk space emerge more quickly than if I were to move down on it from the top. Whatever...six of one...half dozen of another. Not that I don't appreciate their help. Them talking to me about something helps me in the sense that they don't help with just any old thing. They help me with the stuff that preys upon my mind. And, when they make a suggestion I've found that it's a good thing to hold that suggestion in the back of my mind and, if I can, act upon it as quickly as I can. I do know that when my study is cleaned up (they just said to me, "Start with the desk first.") I feel a whole lot better about life and about the things I want to do and many times get a whole lot more productive.

Dennis and Eric at Barnes and Noble
I made business cards for Dennis and Eric Sunday morning with some of the pictures from Barnes and Noble and then thought it would not exactly look right for them to hand out business cards the next Saturday at Borders in Emeryville with Barnes and Noble on them...so, I revised the card and created one with a picture of the book, "East Bay - Then and Now". Actually, the book was too large for my scanner and the picture available at Amazon either had that goofey sneak peek guy hanging over the edge or was too small. I was able to get a nice picture from the publisher Thunder Bay. So, that worked out well. I overheard Dennis telling Eric on the phone that they were, "way cool".
Orders for HGH were sort of slow. Picked up this morning, though, and I processed 3 of them even with waking up at 6:20 am. Last night, instead of taking an ibuprophen before going to bed, I took a Tylenol with codeine. Wrong. Very difficult to fall asleep and very difficult to stay asleep through the night. That's probably why I slept in. Very vivid on the dreams.
Anyway, the only reason why I popped in here was that while I was downing all my vitamins this morning I was thinking about this blog and how and when and if I was ever going to go public with it or even have it associated with Talking To Spirit. The guides and I have over the last few days been mulling it over. I'd think that if it's supposed to be backstory to a channel, then we should be channeling here and I shouldn't be making any references to the other things I do during the day, specifically to my other work. But, that's my life. Anyway, the guides pointed out that there are different sorts of blogs. Like people have work blogs where it is only for talking about work issues. And, the part I didn't want to forget was when they said to me (I almost choked on my vitamins when they said it), "This isn't a nudist camp." I thought it was hilarious. Like I'm not supposed to go around naked parading everything in public. So, since it was about the blog and one of the guides said it I thought I'd preserve it for posterity here.
I will, eventually, have a look through the posts to see if there's anything that shouldn't really be here.

Odds and Ends
Last night and this morning I've been fiddling up a storm with the blog. I decided recently to place a skyscraper Google Ad on the side of the page. Then, it occurred to me when I was visiting other people's blogs that I could place a banner of Google Ads along the top. So, I searched until I found the place to do so in the html code on the template and got one in there. Then, working with Thayer's advice of getting the background and border of the ad to be the same as the background of the webpage began an odyssey that has lasted for hours. I'm beat. It's not exactly perfect, but it's pretty ding-donged close. Anyway, the blue the comes closest to the blue on this template is #639DEE . If anybody is remotely interested I found it with 2 websites that I've bookmarked and will refer to again for other things they were that helpful. WebWhirlers and Color Picker
In getting back into the blog I also wasn't all that satisfied with how it was looking. Also, it's still a new thing for me. I've spent the last several months very involved with the website and I felt I was just getting a bit burned out. I needed something else to occupy my time for awhile. So, I resurrected this. I really don't know when I'm going to go "live" with this. And, when I do I'm not sure just how many of these entries I'm going to leave. The idea is a backstory to the channeling. More so, I suppose, for those who are wanting to learn how to be a channel themselves, I suppose rather than for any prurient interest, though I can't discount that either, I suppose. Sort of an Enquiring Minds Want to Know sort of thing. Hey, I'd be interested if I got the chance to find out what a channel does in her off moments. Also, I enjoy just letting my hair down every once in awhile. Ha...one of the guides just said to me, "Just so that's the only thing you let down..." Anyway, this is also a platform where I can just be me and the guides without getting all dressed up for the website I suppose. It would take a dedicated reader, too, to slog through all of this anyway.
Ah, well...I'm getting a new computer at work. A nice new pentium 4 with an 80 gig hard drive and a CD-R/dvd drive with XP from Dell. My present one is Windows 98 and is burning up as we speak. It's been buzzing for 2 weeks and freezes up more and more, now. It used to be that one freeze every other day was the norm and it's actually been doing that for almost a year, now. What it moved to rapidly was two or three or more freezes in a day and the error messages being returned are all over the place. Someone said to us the buzzing might be a sign that one or more of the fans was either slowing down or had already gone out and things were heating up causing memory bleed which are all the error messages I was getting. I was panicky a week ago when I thought it was going to die on us right then...madly trying to transfer stuff over to the other computer. I know from past experience that you just can't save everything, but I sure have been trying to. Talk about wanting a cigarette. Or two.
It's been 5 Years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 14 hours, 34 minutes and 50 seconds since I last had a cigarette...but, who's counting? We've also saved $12,555 by me not smoking. If anybody who wants to quit smoking would like to know how I know all of this...I have a program called Last Quit - downloaded that many years ago, configured with my stop date and what a pack of cigarettes cost in those days (at present it's about $3.50 a pack when they're on sale at the 7-ll). I just went looking for where folks can download the program and I'm not seeing it anymore. Yikes. Well, there are others out there and if you're interested enough you'll take the time to do a search for them. I will personally recommend using it as a tool to keep yourself motivated during the horrible period of time when you're going through emotional and physical withdrawal of stopping cigarette smoking. Just a horrible time. And, I swear I'll never do it again. I did it once already and quitting for the second time was worse than the first. I won't do it again. So, I heartily recommend using something to keep your motivation up there. And, sewing your lips shut is not on the list. So, I can talk about wanting a cigarette, but I won't ever do it.
And, now that I've ruined my appetite...I'm going to go get dressed. Saturday morning and things to do. Laundry hamper lid won't lie flat anymore, so that's one good signal of something that needs to be done. Tina (my channeling neighbor) and I are going to go to The Rock Shop in Oakland. She's never been there and it's been awhile since I had gone to see Helen, who owns it. Nice peaceful feeling when you wander in there. Terrific vibrations.
