A word from Elvis and Other Stuff

Well, I swear. I still don't understand what the link field does. Slowly, slowly I'm coming around to being more public. I alternate between wanting something of substance (channeled info) and other stuff (reciprocal links) at Talking To Spirit Lately, traffic is up and that's a good thing. I get about 5 or 6 letters a week from folks who have either a concern or a comment. Sometimes I spend a lot of time with them, but then, I suppose I have a lot of time to spend at this time. You know, it's funny, but I get visual flashes of the guides every once in awhile and this particular one was sort of scrubbing his face in his hands when I made the reference as to how much spare time I have. I suppose because it was a blatant lie. Or a wishful lie.

Mandy, my boss' dog passed away this last week. She'd been a favorite in the company and everybody misses her.

Our second newsletter is due to come out on June 1st. The first one wasn't all that bad, if I do say so myself. The Google ads didn't show up, but I guess that's okay. I would have liked to have seen them there, but I probably didn't do something right. Technically, I was able to pull the whole thing together over a weekend...from conception through gathering names of folks to send it to and finally emailing it off. I used Bravenet who has some pretty neat webmaster tools available for folks to use. And, best of all, it was free.

Anyway, I worked on the 2nd one a lot last weekend. I have to say I had one of those really, really good feelings about a particular regular section I'd decided to include with each newsletter. It was to have (notice past tense) been a visit from a personality who had passed on. I mean why be a medium if you aren't going to take advantage of the condition and just talk to famous people? I don't understand why more mediums don't do it. Unless I'm unusual in that regard and I sort of think I'm not. The connection is a telephone line. You can talk to anybody. In any case, I actually had the idea to do it and our first guest was Elvis. I'm not kidding. It was a wonderful little bit he said. I just loved it. It felt wonderful to include it. I'm not, though. I saved it...though they? he? is urging me to include it here. It might not ever see the light of day otherwise. Okay...I'm game.

A Visit from – Elvis

I want to say that I’m honored to be here this afternoon. Folks just expect me to be like I was when I was Elvis the Pelvis Presley. That was then. This is now. But, to establish credibility I suppose I could do a bit of a bump and grind for you. There. Did you see that? Right. No, you didn’t. Part of channeling and talking to the Folk in Spirit who you actually knew or knew of once upon a time also means that you accept the idea that there’s life after death. Why else would I be talking to you? I’m not a ghost. I’ve gone to my heavenly reward and I don’t have any complaints. I had a good life even up until the end and I’m not sorry for a bit of it. Could I have done things differently? Sure. But, so could anybody else. No regrets. That ought to be on a banner over the Pearly Gates for folks as they enter Heaven. No Regrets.

Do I still like to sing? You bet. I’m not a singing sensation like I was then, but I still enjoy singing. So do a lot of folks who’ve passed on. We get together and sing. Mostly church music. There’s just something about a hymn.

Well, that's that. I have yet to make this blog available at the website. I just finished being at Stella Cameron's section of Writer's Space and saw she had a blog. I enjoyed hearing her talk about stuff. The backstory. The stuff you just never hear about. The real person behind the published work. Some of that comes out in what I do at Talking To Spirit, but not all of it. Nor should it being as how I get in pissy moods a lot. Not as much as I used to, but a lot. But, what does not come through, or at least, I haven't noticed it, is the caring that comes from the guides.

Like I was sitting there thinking about the work I wanted to do this weekend. And, how daunting it sometimes feels to be and I was just in the mood for a hug, I suppose. Verging on a pity me sort of a place when I caught a visual of one of the guides just holding me and cradling my head against his chest. I don't know who it was. I really don't even know if it was a he. But, it was the caring and I flat out really needed a hug right then. Now, does that happen to regular people? No. At least it didn't used to happen to me before I started channeling. Could it? Sure. Need to use your imagination...a sheesh...I think the guides are getting ribald now...but, it was a comfort to me. And, that's the kind of stuff I have never put in the website.

Okay, well, let's go. I've, once again, decided to share this blog with others. Also, for the first time I said comments were okay. Some day, I'll decide to put it on Talking To Spirit.

Okay...woof, woof and Elvis has left the building.

Over the Weekend

Saturday night as I lay in bed with a cigar shaped pillow in the small of my back, as I normally do for a few minutes every night, stretching my lower back muscles until they hurt "good", I must have laid too long. I tried to get up out of bed and realized my back had gone out. Lord, but it hurt. I took an 800 mg Motrin that night and another two on Sunday. But, Easter Sunday I could not do much of anything. Rats. Right now it hurts, but not nearly as bad.

But, Sunday morning as I lay in bed snoozing with my bad back I had a dream. It was a usual sort of confusing dream. Normal in the sense that I typically don't have much to say about what is going on...I'm a leaf drifting on the surface of the water sort of thing. Anyway, the dream was carrying me away. Something about a big university building and trying to get out and away. But, it got even more odd as I found myself getting into a red bug sort of car. Dad was comatose in the back seat. Like he was almost dead. Betsy was noncommunicative in the front seat, in the driver's seat. I couldn't rouse her. I didn't want to have anything to do with them and, though the car was still moving (how Betsy could be driving is beyond me...hey, it's one of my crazy dreams) I began to get out of this moving car. The car slowed down enough that I could get out and then the stupid hatch popped open. I slapped it shut once, twice, three times. Finally, it stayed shut and Betsy and Dad left. I turned around and the usual cast of hundreds were there with me. Guides and Folks in Spirit. Which is not at all unusual in my dreams either since I began channeling so many years ago. Anyway, they're all milling about dressed in theatrical costumes. I remember seeing somebody dressed with white tulle netting all fluffy around her, either a ballerina or a bride off in the distance. Cowboys and Indians. It was a regular sort of calvary charge. Shooting guns, racket, charging about down these hills around us. I yelled, "Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!" and I was lucid. Just like that. I turned to the nearest guy. He had a gun in his hand and a grey mustache. I said, "I'm lucid". He didn't seem to hear me. I grabbed his hand and I said, "I'm lucid. I'm lucid" He looked a little confused, like he wasn't totally with the program, but then he turned to the rest of the characters who were still charging and motioned them to stop. They all stopped what they were doing and began to mill about in a confused, but slower manner. I thought to myself, "Well, now that I'm lucid what can I do?" and, the dream picked up steam, I was no longer lucid and it went back to being a regular old dream. I found the entire thing totally amazing. The fact that things that I said happened in three's was interesting. I'll have to think of other things I can do once I'm lucid in dreams. Like do some exercising or something like that. Might as well be something useful. And, maybe I can make a lucid dream tutorial page or something. Anyway, it was thrilling and it's been a good many years since I've had a lucid dream.

I got a request for a paid reading yesterday and worked on it a little bit. Will work some more tonight. I got an unpaid request for some help finding something. That seems to be a popular request. Maybe I should work on that some more...psychic locating of things. I got 3 requests for link exchanges; two I did. The third is for HGH and I don't want there to be any competition for Thayer's stuff, so I won't do anything with that one. Lots of orders for HGH and I need to print out a list for Dennis.

Anyway, an eventful weekend. JZ is off today, so I'll be alone at work. I'll just have to move slowly. Maybe I'll take some ibuprophen with me. Doctor's appointment on Wednesday for the diabetes. Numbers haven't been all that good lately. At least, in my opinion.

Learning to Crochet

Sometimes my life these days reminds me of what it was like back in the days when I was learning how to crochet. I was a loner. I've always been a loner. And, I wanted to learn how to crochet. I got a book. And, it took a very, very long time. It took years. I'd try to crochet something and end up with something so snarled you'd want to say one of the cats played with it. But, I kept trying. And, eventually, I learned how to crochet. I've never made anything huge or fantastic with it. I've made a few afghans...none of which are around here because I gave them all away. Mostly, what we've got in the way of Pauline's Crocheted Objects are toys for the cats...balls for the most part. But, I can pick up a hook and settle in contentedly to make a cat toy during the course of an evening and all around me seems to calm down. Maybe I need something like that now.

My desk is a mess. I mean it is a mess. There was just enough room at the edge to put my coffee cup. How in the world do I get any work done around here? Well, lets see....I could put away those 2 dvd's. I'm done with them. I could look at what's inside those baskets that won't find under the shelf anymore and take something out. Then, the stapler will fit. I could find another tp roll to cover with colored paper to have my scissors sit it taped to the side of the monitor because having the scissors in with the pens and pencils makes the whole thing top heavy. And, just how long would it take to do all that? About the time it took to write about it. And, why can't I do things like that? It's Saturday. If I get this place cleaned up a little bit, just a little bit more organized I know I'll feel better.

Anyway, maybe I'll make a list and have this stuff be at the top. Oh, I'd better because I've also got the checkbook to reconcile. Ugh.

Trying, not too hard, but thinking about finding a couple of places to link Talking To Spirit to. You know, Thayer was talking about making text links awhile ago. I wonder if those same links can be made during the course of my ramblings here? Presumably the spiders that walk the web also visit obscure places like my own....hmmm. Anyway, my resources page at Talking To Spirit has grown somewhat. And, continues to grow. Not burgeone...just grow. It's not exactly outgrown its present digs, but it's sort of cramped. What I was thinking about doing is to place 2 or more categories on each page. And, then you'd use those name tags to take the person down further on the page to where the particular category is that they're looking for. The reasoning for this is that I've seen links pages that do just that. Some of them have really healthy pagerank with google and lots of links. Easy peasy to add new links. What I've got are 15 or so link pages with a google page rank of 2. That's sort of a measly page rank. However, my resource main page has a 3. Maybe the farther away from your main page you get the less likely high page rank occurs?

The guides had a suggestion...being as how this is my backstory I might mention them in here every once in a while...but, as I was laying in bed this morning thinking about the coming weekend they said that I should begin the process of cleaning up the desk at one edge or another and that way I'll be able to see clean desk space emerge more quickly than if I were to move down on it from the top. Whatever...six of one...half dozen of another. Not that I don't appreciate their help. Them talking to me about something helps me in the sense that they don't help with just any old thing. They help me with the stuff that preys upon my mind. And, when they make a suggestion I've found that it's a good thing to hold that suggestion in the back of my mind and, if I can, act upon it as quickly as I can. I do know that when my study is cleaned up (they just said to me, "Start with the desk first.") I feel a whole lot better about life and about the things I want to do and many times get a whole lot more productive.

Hey

Hey. That's what happens when you're not a teenager anymore and don't write, "Dear Diary". Hey. It's Friday night and I'm so tired. Headache and can't hardly move much. My glucose must be high. 56tr4 that was Shelby walking across the keyboard as she left. I think I'll do a little more research on blogging this weekend. Tomorrow morning to the lab to get some blood work done. Sunday morning to work to get the new computer set up. Yay! The old one has just about crapped out. I think we're getting this done just in time. Anyway, nothing more. It's just 9:00 pm and I think I'll go get in bed. Ta....

Dennis and Eric at Barnes and Noble

Well, I'm still not sure what the link field refers to, but I filled it in with Talking To Spirit's info. Now, I've got about 2½ minutes before I need to head out the door for work. The weekend was productive; tiring, but productive. Dennis and Eric had a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Oakland at Jack London Square on Saturday afternoon. I surprised Dennis by showing up and snapped some pictures. Dennis lost his parking ticket for the garage downstairs and we had to pay $10 to get his car out. Not too bad. Parking all day in San Francisco would have been much worse. But, the attitude of the Barnes and Noble people could have been, imo, a bit different. Well, so what.

I made business cards for Dennis and Eric Sunday morning with some of the pictures from Barnes and Noble and then thought it would not exactly look right for them to hand out business cards the next Saturday at Borders in Emeryville with Barnes and Noble on them...so, I revised the card and created one with a picture of the book, "East Bay - Then and Now". Actually, the book was too large for my scanner and the picture available at Amazon either had that goofey sneak peek guy hanging over the edge or was too small. I was able to get a nice picture from the publisher Thunder Bay. So, that worked out well. I overheard Dennis telling Eric on the phone that they were, "way cool".

Orders for HGH were sort of slow. Picked up this morning, though, and I processed 3 of them even with waking up at 6:20 am. Last night, instead of taking an ibuprophen before going to bed, I took a Tylenol with codeine. Wrong. Very difficult to fall asleep and very difficult to stay asleep through the night. That's probably why I slept in. Very vivid on the dreams.

Anyway, the only reason why I popped in here was that while I was downing all my vitamins this morning I was thinking about this blog and how and when and if I was ever going to go public with it or even have it associated with Talking To Spirit. The guides and I have over the last few days been mulling it over. I'd think that if it's supposed to be backstory to a channel, then we should be channeling here and I shouldn't be making any references to the other things I do during the day, specifically to my other work. But, that's my life. Anyway, the guides pointed out that there are different sorts of blogs. Like people have work blogs where it is only for talking about work issues. And, the part I didn't want to forget was when they said to me (I almost choked on my vitamins when they said it), "This isn't a nudist camp." I thought it was hilarious. Like I'm not supposed to go around naked parading everything in public. So, since it was about the blog and one of the guides said it I thought I'd preserve it for posterity here.

I will, eventually, have a look through the posts to see if there's anything that shouldn't really be here.

Odds and Ends

Ah, it's been awhile since I've done much on the Blog. Sounds like I'm slogging into a swamp. But, I got to bed late last night and awakened at my usual early hour. Slipped back to sleep for a couple of hours, but had a very vivid and very busy, frantic sort of busy dream. Not unlike my usual days.

Last night and this morning I've been fiddling up a storm with the blog. I decided recently to place a skyscraper Google Ad on the side of the page. Then, it occurred to me when I was visiting other people's blogs that I could place a banner of Google Ads along the top. So, I searched until I found the place to do so in the html code on the template and got one in there. Then, working with Thayer's advice of getting the background and border of the ad to be the same as the background of the webpage began an odyssey that has lasted for hours. I'm beat. It's not exactly perfect, but it's pretty ding-donged close. Anyway, the blue the comes closest to the blue on this template is #639DEE . If anybody is remotely interested I found it with 2 websites that I've bookmarked and will refer to again for other things they were that helpful. WebWhirlers and Color Picker

In getting back into the blog I also wasn't all that satisfied with how it was looking. Also, it's still a new thing for me. I've spent the last several months very involved with the website and I felt I was just getting a bit burned out. I needed something else to occupy my time for awhile. So, I resurrected this. I really don't know when I'm going to go "live" with this. And, when I do I'm not sure just how many of these entries I'm going to leave. The idea is a backstory to the channeling. More so, I suppose, for those who are wanting to learn how to be a channel themselves, I suppose rather than for any prurient interest, though I can't discount that either, I suppose. Sort of an Enquiring Minds Want to Know sort of thing. Hey, I'd be interested if I got the chance to find out what a channel does in her off moments. Also, I enjoy just letting my hair down every once in awhile. Ha...one of the guides just said to me, "Just so that's the only thing you let down..." Anyway, this is also a platform where I can just be me and the guides without getting all dressed up for the website I suppose. It would take a dedicated reader, too, to slog through all of this anyway.

Ah, well...I'm getting a new computer at work. A nice new pentium 4 with an 80 gig hard drive and a CD-R/dvd drive with XP from Dell. My present one is Windows 98 and is burning up as we speak. It's been buzzing for 2 weeks and freezes up more and more, now. It used to be that one freeze every other day was the norm and it's actually been doing that for almost a year, now. What it moved to rapidly was two or three or more freezes in a day and the error messages being returned are all over the place. Someone said to us the buzzing might be a sign that one or more of the fans was either slowing down or had already gone out and things were heating up causing memory bleed which are all the error messages I was getting. I was panicky a week ago when I thought it was going to die on us right then...madly trying to transfer stuff over to the other computer. I know from past experience that you just can't save everything, but I sure have been trying to. Talk about wanting a cigarette. Or two.

It's been 5 Years, 5 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 14 hours, 34 minutes and 50 seconds since I last had a cigarette...but, who's counting? We've also saved $12,555 by me not smoking. If anybody who wants to quit smoking would like to know how I know all of this...I have a program called Last Quit - downloaded that many years ago, configured with my stop date and what a pack of cigarettes cost in those days (at present it's about $3.50 a pack when they're on sale at the 7-ll). I just went looking for where folks can download the program and I'm not seeing it anymore. Yikes. Well, there are others out there and if you're interested enough you'll take the time to do a search for them. I will personally recommend using it as a tool to keep yourself motivated during the horrible period of time when you're going through emotional and physical withdrawal of stopping cigarette smoking. Just a horrible time. And, I swear I'll never do it again. I did it once already and quitting for the second time was worse than the first. I won't do it again. So, I heartily recommend using something to keep your motivation up there. And, sewing your lips shut is not on the list. So, I can talk about wanting a cigarette, but I won't ever do it.

And, now that I've ruined my appetite...I'm going to go get dressed. Saturday morning and things to do. Laundry hamper lid won't lie flat anymore, so that's one good signal of something that needs to be done. Tina (my channeling neighbor) and I are going to go to The Rock Shop in Oakland. She's never been there and it's been awhile since I had gone to see Helen, who owns it. Nice peaceful feeling when you wander in there. Terrific vibrations.

Ugh

Once upon a time I was in the mode of learning something new each week. I think that's pretty much gone by the wayside, unless you count last night when I actually had a pretty good sense of having felt and played with my aura. I'd described the procedures to Thayer that afternoon and since it had been awhile since I'd done it I tried it out myself. It had actually been awhile and being as how I did TWO channeled readings yesterday, I thought to celebrate in a New Age sort of way. Played with my aura. And, it was pretty cool. I tried an experiment with it too and I blew between the palms of my hands as they hovered palm to palm about an inch or so apart. Just to see if I could blow the aura out of the way. All it did was distract me and I lost the sense of feeling. Couldn't much get it back again. At the time I was half watching Atilla the Hun. Damn 4 hour movie. If I'd known at 8:00 pm it was going to last that long I would never have started watching it...but, in for a penny in for a pound sort of thing and I stuck it out. Anyway, I'm glad I watched it even though it was so long.

I started diabetes medicine yesterday...glucophage 500 mg a day. Hopefully, that'll stop whatever started spiraling out of control a few months ago. I have noticed an almost insatiable appetite. I'll eat and be hungry 10 minutes later. It's very strange. And, not good for a fat person. Also, I get extremely tired. There were two times last week while I was testing my glucose readings when I hit 228 in the evening and those evenings I couldn't stay up past 7:30 pm. Didn't do my orders those nights and just collapsed into bed unable to do anything else. Scary. Also, I'd hit tired spots about mid afternoon at work -- yawning like crazy. Hey, I'm not bored...yawn. And, the last unusual thing I noticed was that I could fire up a temper so quickly you wouldn't believe it. Not moody or sad like happens a week before my period. Just hugely angry at stuff. Minor stuff. I came to be aware of hte readings only because I had a doctor's appointment scheduled on Friday. Since there wasn't any lab work scheduled I figured I'd best get some readings together for my doctor to look at. He didn't get all wired about it, but he did say as he looked at them, "Now, I know what to do." He gave me the choice of diabetes medicine or cholesterol medicine. He said my cholesterol was low and on the good side my bad cholesterol was nice and low, but that goes hand in hand with diabetes stuff. They both tend to feed on each other. Swell.

He's been after me for years to lower my weight and get more active. I've got a head thing about both. This is a woman who threw up on a pretty regular basis for over 20 years and nobody knew anything about it. This is a woman who depended on that bulimia to keep her svelte. All I can say is bulimia ranks up there real high on the effective weight control measures. Because once I stopped that? And, when I stopped smoking and drinking? Blammo. Blimpo.

Anyway, he was real civilized about it and said that I'd kept it under control for 3 years and he'd been pleased with it, but now it was time to take another step. I sat there thinking this man is so kind to me who has failed miserably. But, I had to fail. Had to. Losing the weight...becoming svelte again? That's the scary thing. Being taken seriously because I look hot? Nobody looks twice at a fat person. They just don't. Fat people don't have to do things other people enjoy. Oh, well, this is definitely stuff for the Private Journal.

I have the sense that I need to hurry up and do some more work. If I'm not going to get another book published I need to spend time on the website. There needs to be a body of work up there that can stand and help people for a long time to come. I know in my heart this is good stuff for people to hear. It can help them to be happier; it can help them to have hope more easily. It helped me. Even though I'm not "fixed" completely, nor will I ever be, I suppose. But, I'm better. And, from the reactions I've had from some of the readers the things the guides say help them too. So, I need to be healthier. I need to become more productive and sit still long enough for the guides to channel stuff...or, me to channel for them. As long as I've done this I still don't get the lingo right sometimes.

A Standup Sort of Person

Just a few minutes before I need to head off to work. It's cold now. Hot the last time I wrote and we were very worried about fires and now, it's cold. Had a pretty intense rain storm over the weekend, but it didn't last that long.

Am reading Nicholas Spark's now, "The Rescue" I just finished another by him, "Nights in Rodanthe". Very good writer. I enjoy his stories. I purchased Barbara Moss' "Fierce" over the weekend and will read it soon.

Dennis and Eric's book will soon be out. We hope. He got an advance copy and has been showing it around. "East Bay - Then and Now"

One of the things I don't spend a whole lot of time talking about is spiritual stuff. I realize that I'm "in touch" all the time and when I say in exasperation, "Jesus" and he says or somebody says, "Yeeeessss?" it always serves to jerk me away or part way away from my fuss. But, there is a sense of a better way to be...a better way to strive towards that is always a part of my day. I'll be at work and be bombarded with telephone calls...one right after the other and some of them, most of them with some of the most inane requests you'd ever hope to hear. I'll get off of the phone thinking, "Why?" Well, there's a lot more to that questions...but, we'll leave it at "Why?" for the moment. It's like I feel that I'm supposed to be "in touch" I'm supposed to act right. I'm supposed to be spiritual. Because I'm a channel. Because I've got a website that serves as a platform for the Guides to talk about stuff. Because there are people who are really touched by what is said. Because this stuff can change lives for the better, like my own was changed. So, I should be a standup sort of person and act right. Except, I don't always feel like I do. I'm human, I suppose, with all those associated failings and frailties and the Guides, I feel, are very understanding of what a poop I can be. Especially, moving rather quickly now, towards menopause. Ahem, if we might interject? Sure. Mean, Dear. You've left out mean. Thank you. You're quite welcome.

Yes, okay. That, too. Anyway, I need to go be mean at work now. Ta.

Flailing About

We had a really hot and, at times, windy day yesterday...reminiscent of the fire storm in the Oakland hills back in 1991. Yesterday as the work day wound down for us and I went outside to mail our mail it seemed everything was hazy. I kept thinking my glasses were dirty or maybe the construction guys had raised a dust storm...except there wasn't any construction going on right then. When I got back to the office Janice told me that the smoke from fires out aways was fanning in on us. It was worrisome. A 29,500-acre wildfire in Napa and Yolo counties is what is being said in the news. It was so hot that Dennis and I dispensed with our feather bed and just used sheets. Except, I don't sleep comfortable much anymore and I especially didn't sleep comfortable last night. Fluffy insists on lying at the foot of the bed and she is one rather large cat. Also, one of my pillows went missing. Maybe Dennis has it. Then, I had to keep going to the bathroom...so, finally I just stayed up.

Rambling. I'm reading Barbara Robinette Moss' book, "Change me into Zeus' Daughter" right now. It'll be the second time for me. The first time was one of those watershed moments when you read something that brings a whole lot of trauma up for you. I wrote her then, though I can't seem to find the letter anymore. But, I remember telling her it was a wonderful book. Anyway, a week or so ago I got a little note from her saying her new book, "Fierce" was out and if I was interested in reading it she'd also be interested in what I thought. So, I've checked out and am reading the first book now. The library doesn't have the 2nd one yet, so I'll probably buy it. Pretty amazing lady.

I had a thought that this blog should be the back story of the channeling that I do and I should reserve more private musings for other journals. Or, we could actually do some channeling her....moreso than I've done to date. But, for some reason right now either the guides aren't leaping into the void...or are content to watch me flail about. Somebody just said, "The flailing about part is fine." I'm not feeling all that well right now. I've got a doctor's appointment early next month. My sense is my diabetes or the high blood pressure or something isn't quite right. Yesterday, while I did some shopping at Albertson's I got dizzy a couple of times. It was unsettling. Also, at work, all day yesterday I was terribly uncomfortable. The day just seemed to drag on forever. I'd just finished reading the first in a series of books yesterday called, "At Home in Mitford" by Jan Karon. I'm in love again. Anyway, I've ordered up the 2nd book in the series and have included her, along with Barbara R. Moss, in my list of recommended writers. Anyway, the Episcopalian priest in the story is diabetic and isn't paying enough attention (remind you of someone?) to taking care of himself. And, the next day I get dizzy? And, if you figure that everything you run into is an opportunity for you to learn something I had a sense in that book of rubbing elbows with folks who consider a spiritual life to be important. It was refreshing. I mean, here I am with the guides all day who are some of the most spiritual people I can think of and me. Who grouses around...hollers at work...is grouchy...can't talk to people right...I'm one of the least spiritual people around...and, I'm relaying on what these really spiritual teachers have to say? Something wrong with this picture. The sense, though, that I got from the book was it's okay to try. There's something rearing up from childhood here. And, it's hard to look at. But, it was almost like the characters in Jan Karon's books (who aren't real) reach out in such a way to be real and interesting enough to deliver a good lesson. So, I should be open to it? Yes. If we might say something, Dear? Please...I'm floundering here. We noticed. This blog, as it is referred to, is essentially a journal of sorts. And, technically a journal might be considered a place to flail about getting your thoughts in order to move out and conduct your life in a planned and orderly fashion. In that sense you are fulfilling the idea of blog. But, as a back story to your channeling experience it leaves something to be desired, for who would, in their right mind, be interested to read the musings of somebody flailing about in the dark hours before dawn? We would recommend to you that you be open to the idea of keeping two journals. One with your more than private musings and another with those you will consider to be your backstory. We do not, in the least, mind bouncing about between notebooks, as it were.

Okay, that sounds good to me. Thanks.

Mitzie as a Baby

Mitzie - At 3 months old in September, 1988 Posted by Hello

Plans for the Weekend and Talking To Mom

It's interesting to see how differently I feel when I've got some direction as opposed to when I don't. At the beginning of the week I had no plans for what to do. I just sort of drifted and I really didn't feel very good. Not physically. Just bummed out. Then, it began to snow ball and it began as I got a notice from the library that books I'd put on reserve were ready to pick up. Good ones too. The Mitford Series and I've started at the beginning. A really homey set of books I can't seem to put down. But, the interesting thing about it is that as I got interested in this book I also got re-interested in life again. ... So, the moral? I suppose you could say when you're bored, read something to perk you up again.

Ha...it's a minute away to 2:22 am. Earlier, I'd awakened thinking...there now, it's 2:22 am. Anyway, I'd awakened and thought to myself it might be time to get up, but the guides told me I still needed to sleep some. And, I did. A little. Got up again in earnest saying that I could take a nap later on if I got too tired...or, if I'm done before morning, just go back to bed. It's just exciting to have the weekend to do stuff. And, I suppose I ought to make a list. At least I don't have to iron 18 different garments like what happened last weekend.

Anyway, plans for the weekend include organizing the study. It began last week when Dennis corralled everything on the floor and sort of bulldozed it over to the edges. I walked in and it was wonderful. I swept everything off of the surface of the desk to the floor and got to work. Not on the piles, but with other things that were far more interesting. I need to keep up with that. It doesn't take long for it to get out of hand. Same trouble at the office too. For hire: Slobby secretary....Anyway, I'm going to switch over to my journal and see what's what there.

Oh, I did find that picture of Mitzie Thayer had sent up when she was 3 months old in September, 1988.... Sheesh, that was difficult figuring out how to get Mitzie's picture up. With practice, I suppose. Anyway, she's a dear cat and about 16 years old. No wonder she sleeps all day. I'm glad to see that she's decided to come out and sort of be with the family. She's been out on the patio for a few weeks now. Albertson's was having a sale on the softest blankets...at $3.99 each. I told Dennis about it when he said he was going to go over to get the makings for Rocky Road Ice Cream which I prepared yesterday evening. We'll make our first batch of ice cream some time today in the new Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. Anyway, Mitzie got a new blanket too. It's beginning to get nippy at night and I'm sure she appreciates the blanket. Am looking for her to start thinking about moving back inside soon. But, she's happy where she is for the moment. When she decides to move back into the house I'm sure there will be some discussion about who can walk near her and look at her and things along those lines. I'm afraid she can't see as good as she used to. It's tough watching our kitties get old.

In any case, I'm glad for the weekend. I hope to get started on a new section for the website. I am beginning to think of it a little differently these days. Rather than a finished product, more as a dynamic book. That makes me feel a little better having not devoted myself to a "Book" project the last few years. Now, to make it profitable? With time, Dear, with time. Thanks. You're welcome. Do you want to talk? It would appear that is what we are doing. Yes. Well? I don't know what to say. Camera shy are you? Well, yes. Remember you want to locate the work you did back in the old days as you sometimes refer to your earlier attempts at channeling. Also, you'd mentioned something about putting a Ouija Board on the web as a pdf file. Of course, Milton Bradley won't appreciate you stealing their name, so you might refer to it as something else. Talking Board won't work either as the name is taken. Thanks. You are welcome. And, our blessings. Do you know who this is? Is it Seth? No, Dear. It's your mother. Hi Mom. Hi, Pauline. You still can't handle it can you? No. I miss you. I know you do. But, think of how you can talk to me now? Remember when we would talk on the telephone so often? And, how we laughed? Just think of it like that. Yeah. I love you. I love you too. You're going to be tired later on. Yes, I know. Be careful if you drive. I will. I wonder if I don't mess this all up. Well, you do at times, but I wouldn't worry about it. Are you going to send a copy of your psychic reading to your sister? Yes, thanks for reminding me. You're welcome. Mom, I think maybe I'm going to be losing some weight. Yes, maybe this time you will. Did you want to ask me something about it? No, I'm okay. It just feels like this time I can do a little better at it. Yes, I'm sure you will. Just don't eat so much of your ice cream. Well, it doesn't get a whole gallon made at a time. It'll be fun to try out different flavors. But, I see what you mean. For somebody who's trying to lose weight fiddeling around with an ice cream maker sort of is not the best thing to do. Hey, you've got to eat. Well, it doesn't have to be ice cream. Thanks, Mom. I feel better. Yes, I do too.

Okay...I'm signing off for now. That was nice. I'm all teary. Mom's been gone 10 years, now.
